IMPULSION, Innovation Edition: The international summit on electric and smart transportation starts today
Montreal, March 13, 2023 — Propulsion Québec, the cluster for Electric and Smart Transportation (EST), presents IMPULSION, Innovation Edition, the first international summit on electric and smart transportation, taking place from March 13 to 15. More than 1,000 leaders and specialists from this cutting-edge sector are converging this week – from around the globe – at the Palais des congrès de Montréal to participate in this major event, which seeks to advance sustainable mobility in Quebec and around the world.
“Propulsion Québec is proud to officiate at this unifying event that is bringing together acclaimed experts from around the world. Over the next three days, many participants will benefit from opportunities to discuss the multitude of solutions available to us to advance transportation electrification, a priority in the fight against climate change and in our race to reach our ambitious greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) objectives,” states Sarah Houde, President and CEO of Propulsion Québec.
Accelerate sustainable mobility
Business owners, decision-makers, innovators, researchers and specialists from the sector, and government officials will benefit from the opportunity to discuss the latest trends and advances in sustainable mobility and current key topics, such as government strategies and public policies that foster EST development, niche markets that promote a green economy in 2030, in addition to business models, financing and advancing the emergence of new technologies conducive to the growth of EST businesses.
“The program for this event demonstrates Quebec’s capacity to develop international collaborative projects around mobility and position itself as a global innovation hub,” Ms. Houde declares.
Several government representatives confirmed their participation, namely: The Honorable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sport and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED); Mr. Pierre Fitzgibbon, Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy; Mr. Benoît Charette, Minister of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks; Ms. Sophie Mauzerolle, Montreal City Councillor, Executive committee member and Agglomeration council member; and Mr. Bruno Marchand, Mayor of Quebec City.
The event will welcome over 150 speakers from prestigious organizations to the podium, including Alstom, CDPQ Infra, General Motors Canada, LeddarTech, OCDE, Panasonic Energy Corporation, Rio Tinto Iron and Titanium (RTFT) and Diamonds and Volvo.
As part of the Année de l’Innovation Franco-Québécoise, the summit is welcoming a French delegation made up of, among others, directors of the Société du Grand Paris, the SNCF Group and RATP Dev.
An exhibition area, bringing together over 50 organizations, is dedicated to sustainable mobility start-ups and businesses. They will be demonstrating major technological advances in the sector as well as state-of-the-art innovative vehicles.
IMPULSION, Innovation Edition, is made possible thanks to the financial support of Canada Economic Development for Quebec regions, the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie du Québec (MEIE), the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie, the Ministère des Transports et de la mobilité du Québec, the Ministère du Tourisme du Québec (MTO), the City of Montreal, AttriX, integration partner Geotab, Hydro-Québec, Quebecor and InnovÉÉ.
