FLO | AddÉnergie: investing in sustainable mobility

Specializing in charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs), FLO | AddÉnergie is both a manufacturer, a network operator and a software designer. These three hats give it a head start in the promising North American transportation electrification market, and the Fund is proud to be part of the journey. A guided tour.

Driven by its impact-investor vision, the Fund has for several years identified sustainable mobility among its strategic priorities, so it is only natural that it be involved in the transportation electrification movement in Quebec. In addition to being a major partner of the Propulsion Québec group, the Fund did not hesitate to join other institutions to provide financial support Flo |AddÉnergieand thus act as a catalyst for its growth. And that growth looks robust!

A manufacturer of charging stations, but also operator of the FLO network, and designer of software to operate such networks, AddÉnergie has about 275 employees mainly distributed between its headquarters in Quebec City, its Montreal office and its assembly plant in Shawinigan. The management software and the design of the stations are developed in-house and the parts are manufactured by specialized suppliers, 80% of which are located in Quebec. The company also provides its services to third-party networks including those of Hydro-Québec (Circuit Électrique) and BC Hydro.

The Fund considers the company a preferred partner in its energy and environment investment portfolio and intends to closely support the company in its current and future projects.

"Flo | AddÉnergie has the advantage of being led by a powerhouse team, and it's one of the few companies in the sector to offer a true vertically integrated model," believes Colette Roy, Investment Director at the Fund, in the Structured Capital, Environment and Energy sector. "This places it in an excellent position to become a Quebec flagship in the North American EV charging market."

An undisputed leader in charging stations in Quebec, the company already occupies 50% of the Canadian market and has been expanding into the United States for several years. In short, it is an essential partner for anyone looking to advance EV adoption.
