Propulsion Québec accelerates electrification with renewed funding for the Recharge+ program

At a time when the deployment of charging infrastructure is a key factor in the success of the transition to electric transportation, Propulsion Québec, with the renewed support of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), is announcing a key milestone: the renewal of theRefill+.

Since its launch in 2022, this strategic program has enabled the installation of more than 760 charging stations across Quebec, spread over 83 projects (35 public and 48 private), with beneficiaries including Sepaq, GLS, Nationex, Globocam and several municipalities (Bécancour, Boisbriand, Québec and Varennes).

Recharge+ aims to respond to a crucial issue identified by the industry: the accessibility of charging infrastructures. By facilitating the acquisition and installation of charging stations, this program contributes directly to the electrification of vehicle fleets and workplaces, while supporting the adoption of zero-emission vehicles.

Concrete resources for measurable impact

Recharge+ enables the installation of level 2 or fast charging stations. These strategic installations are designed to reduce the cost, availability and accessibility of infrastructure, thereby accelerating Quebec's electric shift in a targeted manner.

A hotly debated issue

As Quebec sets its sights on the ambitious goal of two million light electric vehicles on the road by 2030, the deployment of charging infrastructure is more imperative than ever. With the planned addition of 116,000 public charging stations, including 6,700 rapid charging stations, the Recharge+ program is an essential lever for supporting the province's strategy.

Quotes

"The renewal of the Recharge+ program enables Propulsion Québec to pursue its mission of removing barriers to electrification and accelerating the decarbonization of the transportation industry. Every charging infrastructure installed at companies participating in the program is a victory for the Quebec economy and for the reduction of GHG emissions," said Michelle LLambías-Meunier, President and CEO of Propulsion Québec.

"Every year, hundreds of thousands of Canadians switch to electric vehicles, saving money on gas and maintenance. To help Canadians drive electric vehicles where they live, work, travel and play, the Government of Canada is working with Propulsion Québec and the Recharge+ program to create reliable and easily accessible charging options. We're pleased to invest in building electric vehicle charging stations for Quebec drivers."

"Communities across Quebec are accelerating towards a more sustainable and prosperous future. We're proud to work with Propulsion Québec and the Recharge+ program to provide these much-needed charging stations. By acting together, we're fighting climate change while helping families save money faster."
