A skilled workforce for a strong industry!

The study “Horizon 2050 and labour and training needs of the electric and intelligent transportation sector” raises the issue that the availability of labour is a barrier to growth. Propulsion Québec, through its Talent and Workforce initiative, will help the electric and intelligent transportation (TEI) industry access a qualified workforce.

How can the sector be promoted and made more attractive to potential students, workers and job seekers? Several recommendations were made to improve workforce availability following this study, including:

  1. Carry out promotional activities to better promote the TEI sector and highlight the jobs and training leading to careers in the sector;
  2. Increase the availability of internships at companies operating in the TEI sector to allow students and new entrants to better apply the knowledge they have acquired to the sector.

Launch of the Careers project

Propulsion Québec is launching a project to showcase careers and training in the electric and intelligent transportation sector, which will be rolled out in three streams:

  1. A promotional campaign for the electric and intelligent transportation sector and its careers;
  2. A virtual job and training fair that will enable matchmaking and information sharing about the TEI sector and its careers;
  3. A dedicated microsite presenting the TEI sector, careers, training and jobs related to our industry.

Project objectives

The Careers project aims to promote and raise awareness of the electric and intelligent transportation sector in Quebec as well as the training that leads to careers in this specific sector. This unifying project will help boost employment opportunities among various target audiences in order to increase the attractiveness of the sector and allow cluster companies to access a pool of labour that meets the industry's needs.

Be an integral part of the project

This project would not be possible without the contribution and active participation of partner companies, educational institutions and outreach partners.
