Élexpertise, the flagship sectoral workforce committee (CSMO) of the electric and intelligent transportation sector, is planningthe training of 100 assemblers, fitters, controllers and verifiers of electronic equipment. Having noticed that companies in the electronic manufacturing sector have several gaps regarding methods for assembling electronic circuits, Élexpertise, in collaboration with the Commission of Labour Market Partners(CPMT), is organizing the training of workers from companies in the manufacturing sector of the computer and electronic product manufacturing (NAICS 334).
These soft-soldering and IPC standards trainings are dedicated to improving production and productivity through increased output, reduced waste, improved product quality and enhanced technical skills of personnel. Moreover, these trainings will enable mobility for electronics assemblers and increase these workers' versatility.
Note that the computer and electronic product manufacturing sector plays a very important role in the development of electric and intelligent transportation in Quebec.
Improving the descriptive job sheets for occupations related to transport electrification and intelligent transportation
In partnership with Propulsion Québec, Élexpertise is once again planning to gather information on trades related to transport electrification in order to improve and enhance the job profiles developed to promote trades in the intelligent transportation and transport electrification sector.
In 2020, as part of the En Route project, Propulsion Québec and Élexpertise collaborated on the creation of 14 job profile sheets related to electric and intelligent transportation.
These sheets offer a description of the profession studied, the tasks performed and the necessary skills. These sheets allow employers, workers, students and all stakeholders in the relevant sectors to access relevant and up-to-date information about these careers of the future. The emergence of electric and intelligent transportation is creating a lot of excitement and, with these enhancements, the occupations will be better documented than before.
