Montreal, March 18, 2024 — Propulsion Québec, the electric and intelligent transportation cluster (EIT), with financial participation from the Government of Quebec, today kicked off its flagship workforce recruitment event, RDV En Route 2024!, in the presence of numerous dignitaries and industry members. A large number of attendees converged on the Marché Bonsecours to discover the many career opportunities currently available within the sector.
The EIT ecosystem is buzzing and multiple projects are underway or about to be carried out. Hundreds of positions are currently open within organizations across Quebec. Over the coming years, companies will need to recruit thousands of additional workers to carry out all the projects and thereby accelerate the development of this pivotal sector of Quebec’s economy.
This initiative is essential to showcase and promote the range of trades and professions and to attract specialized labour to the major players in green mobility. Several specialized positions are available throughout the value chain, including assemblers, electromechanical technicians, software designers, and electrical, mechanical, software and chemical engineers.
More than forty employers, organizations and educational institutions took advantage of the opportunity to meet workers looking for a new challenge as well as students and graduates interested in career prospects, including Hydro-Québec, Astus, Communauto, exo, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), the Société de transport de Laval (STL), Créaform Ingénierie, Lithion Technologies, the MRC de la Rivière‑du‑Nord, Novabus, Glencore and many others.

The RDV En route 2024! offers a unique platform to companies wishing to showcase know‑how, cutting‑edge technologies and sustainable innovations that will define the world of tomorrow’s transportation. The event also presents a remarkable showcase of the many job, profession, internship and training opportunities the industry has to offer.
A rich and diverse program is presented throughout the day, with at the forefront:
- A panel on sustainable mobility in which senior decision‑makers from transport companies, will discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the electrification of transport;
- An inspiring discussion with influential women of the industry about their career paths and the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion;
- Presentations of Quebec‑based technologies in EIT;
- An exhibition highlighting innovations developed by university student associations;
- The presentation of the finalist teams of the student competition university, highlighting solutions to optimize and predict the range of electric buses.
- The presentation of the sectoral workforce committees of the sector and of a study on the skills specific to the manufacturing and design of electric vehicles as well as programs and services from Services Québec; and
- A unique opportunity to discover how to get started in the industry, thanks to a panel led by start‑ups from the sector and a presentation of best practices for interviews.
