Propulsion Québec welcomes the Government of Quebec's decision to maintain essential activities in the manufacturing sector

Montreal, January 7, 2021 —Propulsion Québec, the electric and intelligent transportation cluster (EIT), welcomes the Quebec government's decision, announced on January 6, 2021, to maintain essential activities in the manufacturing and transportation sectors. The government's sensitivity to the issues facing manufacturing companies is particularly appreciated, as it will allow factory operations to continue and thus enable the fulfillment of orders and the meeting of obligations, without slowing the growth momentum that characterizes our industry. Research and development activities and other organizational functions will, for their part, be able to continue via telework. Interregional movement and public transit will also be maintained, which is also good news for our sector.

"We welcome the Quebec government's decision to maintain manufacturing activities. This will help reduce the negative impacts on our members, who are in direct competition with the best in the world in this highly innovative sector," said Sarah Houde, President and CEO of the cluster.

Propulsion Québec encourages all its members as well as the entire population of Quebec to rigorously follow public health rules to limit the spread of the virus as much as possible and to hope for a return to normal as quickly as possible.
