Colibri: an experimental project to reduce traffic congestion and pollution
By replacing delivery trucks with electric cargo bikes providing “last-kilometre” package delivery from the former bus station, the Colibri project helps reduce congestion and improve mobility in central Montréal. Electric bicycles are more economical and more efficient. They offer an ecological transportation solution that reduces greenhouse gases.
The initiative, implemented in collaboration with Jalon MTL, is part of the search for sustainable, smart transport solutions. It’s the first accomplishment of the Montréal urban logistics experimentation hub, whose goal is to test solutions for the ecological transportation of merchandise.
