FLO | AddÉnergie has doubled its number of employees in 14 months: a sign of sustained growth and of a strong employer brand

At FLO | AddÉnergie, good news keeps coming at the pace of the company’s sustained growth. The most recent example is telling: we reached the 300-employee mark last November. This is another sign of the company’s strong growth, having doubled its number of employees in just 14 months. And this, despite the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and a labour shortage.

This growth, which may seem paradoxical at first glance, is explained by the fact that enthusiasm for electric vehicles is increasingly being felt. Everything indicates that we are now facing a persistent trend in favour of transportation electrification, which even the recent economic environment could not slow. It is no surprise to anyone: the economy of the future must be innovative, responsible and sustainable.

The challenge we face is rather that we must constantly be looking for new talent to complete the various teams that will support the company’s growth. In the current economic context, where attracting talent is a daily challenge, we have been able to bring on an exceptional number of qualified and creative people who share the same passion for sustainable development and a determination to help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.

Our secret? It is the mission we set for ourselves that exerts an attractive pull on qualified labour, since employees share a genuine desire to change things by fighting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The pandemic has prompted many workers to reassess their priorities; they now want work aligned with their personal values, work that has concrete impacts on people’s quality of life and on the environment, work that allows them to achieve professional fulfilment while offering a healthy work–family balance. There is no doubt that our environment-focused mission and the ambition to expand the FLO network across North America have been strong arguments to convince candidates to write the next chapter of their careers with us.

All of FLO | AddÉnergie’s main sites — Québec City, Shawinigan and Montreal — have experienced significant increases in staff. Other sites have also seen employee numbers grow, from Ontario to British Columbia as well as in several U.S. states, notably California, New York, Texas and Washington.

On the facilities side, to accommodate all this talent, FLO | AddÉnergie recently opened a brand-new office space in downtown Montreal. At the same time, we began expanding our headquarters in Québec City, notably by doubling the size of our research and development laboratory. We also announced the opening of a second production site, also in Shawinigan.

With this expansion of our teams and facilities, we are equipping ourselves to meet the increased demand for our products, both in the Canadian market and in the United States, where transportation electrification is booming. In this context, our ability to deliver products as sophisticated as fast-charging stations within a few days constitutes a major competitive advantage. With the talented, high-performing team we have built, FLO | AddÉnergie is ready to meet the next challenges of growth!
