About us

Boivin Evolution is the first company to offer 100% electric automated collection bodies for waste collection. With over 40 years of experience in manufacturing innovative waste-collection products, founder Claude Boivin, well known among the largest equipment manufacturers in North America, has relaunched his activities under the name Boivin Evolution (BEV).

Electricity for efficiency

BEV's mission is to develop 100% electric collection vehicles in order to reduce their environmental footprint, whether through reduced fuel use, lower GHG emissions, or the elimination of hydraulic leaks.

From Québec to Texas

It was in November 2020, after nearly 3 years of work, research and development, analyses and testing, that Boivin Evolution delivered its first 100% electric body to North American giant Waste Connections in Texas. It was an important step for BEV, not only in the field of waste collection, but also from an environmental standpoint.

The environment at the heart of BEV's priorities

Unlike a hydraulic body that requires the engine's power to operate the automated arm and compaction, all functions of BEV's fully electric body are powered by a battery, resulting in fuel savings of 35 to 50% on diesel trucks. When the body is mounted on an electric truck, the system consumes only 45–50 kWh for a full workday and the overall weight is thus reduced by 3,000 to 4,000 pounds. This significant added value allows the legal payload that can be carried to be increased substantially.
