Propulsion Québec welcomes the announcement of the deployment of an electric autonomous shuttle by Keolis Canada and the City of Candiac. This project, carried out thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec and in collaboration with Propulsion Québec and Technopôle IVÉO, represents the very first long-term demonstration project of a 100% electric autonomous shuttle on public roadways on Canadian soil.

For Quebec’s ecosystem, this is a concrete achievement resulting from collaboration among different industry stakeholders and is part of one of the cluster’s seven workstreams aimed at making Quebec a global reference for hosting demonstrations and experiments in innovative mobility. Its implementation will serve as a model project that will allow the collection and sharing of important data to facilitate the deployment of future projects across the province. The shuttle’s operation will also contribute to the development and adoption of a regulatory framework, practices, and public policies that will support the development, experimentation, and commercialization of electric and intelligent vehicles in Quebec. This mandate lies at the heart of the workstream focused on regulation and public policy in which Propulsion Québec is actively engaged.
