Québec Defense Transport Access

Accelerate your entry into the defense markets of Canada and allied countries.

Initiative

What it's about

Coordinated access to defense markets

The Québec Defense Transport Access Initiative (ADTQ) is jointly led by Propulsion Québec and Aéro Montréal, in collaboration with STIQ, with financial support from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED).

It helps Québec companies in electric and intelligent land transportation (EIT) and aerospace better understand, prepare for, and accelerate their entry into defense markets, in Canada and allied countries.

Defense markets offer significant growth opportunities, but they also come with specific requirements around procurement, security, compliance, positioning, and business development. ADTQ brings together different forms of support to help companies assess their potential, target relevant opportunities, and build relationships with key players in the sector.

ELIGIBILITY

Who is ADTQ for?

ADTQ is primarily aimed at Québec companies in electric and intelligent land transportation and aerospace that show interest, capabilities, or potential to enter defense markets and supply chains.

Companies targeting defense markets

EIT and aerospace companies looking to better understand defense markets, assess their potential, and identify opportunities suited to their offering. For example: electrified or autonomous ground vehicles, propulsion and energy management systems, smart mobility technologies.

SMEs eligible for the personalized support pathway

SMEs looking to structure or accelerate their commercial approach to defense markets and that could benefit from more intensive support. ADTQ includes several components accessible to a wide range of companies, including a personalized support pathway reserved for 20 selected SMEs.

Companies interested in ADTQ activities

Companies that are members, or considering becoming members, of Propulsion Québec, Aéro Montréal, or STIQ, interested in the market intelligence, skills mapping, workshops, events, or networking offered through ADTQ.

INITIATIVE STRUCTURE

The four key components of ADTQ

ADTQ is built around four key complementary components, accessible to a wide range of companies, designed to strengthen their positioning, capabilities, and strategic development toward defense markets.

Market mobilization and intelligence

Content, activities, and opportunities to better understand defense markets, their requirements, and how they work: market intelligence, workshops, webinars, information sessions, and events.

Skills mapping / Cargo (powered by Axya)

Tools to identify and showcase Québec's industrial capabilities in defense markets, making them easier for prime decision makers to discover: company profiles, capability searches, and matchmaking. Cargo is the platform behind this mapping.

Personalized support pathway

Structured support reserved for 20 selected SMEs, designed to accelerate their preparation, positioning, and commercial efforts toward defense markets.

Outreach and market access

Support and participation in targeted activities to build visibility, relationships, and access to concrete opportunities in Canada and allied countries: missions, trade shows, B2B meetings, and networking.

Personalized support pathway

Reserved for 20 selected SMEs, the pathway helps them to:

  1. Identify business opportunities that match their offering

  2. Structure and position their project based on market needs

  3. Determine the best strategies and entry points

  4. Assess their readiness for the sector's requirements
