Description
Service technicians maintain electrical systems and equipment for electric vehicles, including batteries and charging stations. They diagnose problems and make the necessary repairs. Developing and maintaining good relationships with customers and partners is part of the job. Every day they have the opportunity to leverage their knowledge and make a difference, not only on their team but also in the wider community, to help shape the future—transportation electrification!
Examples of tasks and responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics (remotely and on site) using various tools (telemetry, databases) to proactively identify equipment failures
- Follow up as necessary with customers and other project teams to ensure their satisfaction
- Carry out preventive maintenance on vehicle charging equipment
- Plan and prepare the procurement and shipment of parts to customers/partners
- Help create procedures for dealing with each type of problem
- Fill out service reports and work orders
Required skills
- Familiarity with servicing electrical components or an interest in learning more about it
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Inquisitiveness, good organizational skills, and a detail-oriented approach
- Good teamwork skills
- Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
