Description

In this program students learn how to make, install, connect, check, and perform quality control for wires and cables of electrical appliances; perform continuity tests; and correct any issues found. Graduates will have the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to interpret work procedures, drawings, and manuals. They will know how to:

  • Use computer equipment
  • Apply occupational health and safety rules and handling techniques
  • Carry out soft soldering, manual machining, and mechanical assembly tasks
  • Build and install harnesses in an assembly
  • Assemble and install system components
  • Assemble printed circuit boards
  • Perform maintenance on the components of an optics/photonics system
