Montréal, May 30, 2023 - Sarah Houde, President and CEO of Propulsion Québec since its founding in 2017, has informed the Board of Directors of her intention to step down by the fall. Thanks to her hard work, dynamism and mobilizing leadership, she and her teams have succeeded in meeting the challenge of positioning the industry as a key player in the economy of Quebec and Canada, and the Cluster as a world leader in the electric and intelligent transport sector.
"Over the past six years, I've been involved in a number of projects that have demonstrated the enormous potential of the electric and intelligent transport ecosystem. From some 20 founding members in its early days, the cluster now boasts over 270 members, from start-ups to large corporations, as well as Quebec institutions, research centers and mobility operators. I'm proud of the work we've accomplished, and I'd like to thank my teams, our members and all our partners, thanks to whom the Quebec landscape has completely changed since 2017: we're now talking about electric and intelligent transport on a regular basis, in all political, economic and environmental circles. It's time for me to pass on the torch, and I leave with confidence knowing that my successor will be able to count on a dedicated, competent and determined team."
"Sarah is a dynamic, human and unifying manager. She has worked tirelessly and whole-heartedly since her arrival, enabling the Grappe to achieve dazzling growth despite the pandemic," said Benoit Lacroix, President and CEO of Astus and Chairman of the Board of Propulsion Québec. "His enthusiasm and vision have enabled us to establish structuring programs and projects, develop new business models, and successfully merge with the Pôle québécois d'excellence en transports terrestres. Her greatest achievements will certainly have been to have been at the origin of the battery strategy for Quebec and Canada, to have succeeded in significantly changing regulations and public policies in favor of sustainable mobility, and to have recruited the best talent, a strong team now made up of 25 talented and dynamic people. She has made La Grappe a key player in the sector throughout North America."
The recruitment process will begin in the next few days, under the care of a recruitment firm. A selection committee made up of members of the Board of Directors will be responsible for choosing the next executive officer. Ms. Houde will continue in her current position until her successor arrives in the fall. Thereafter, La Grappe can count on her cooperation to ensure a smooth transition.
