Quebec, February 20, 2020 — Propulsion Québec, the cluster for electric and intelligent transportation, is continuing its deployment strategy with the opening of a permanent business office in Quebec City, where a local resource will now be dedicated to deepening the development of the electric and intelligent transportation ecosystem in the Capitale‑Nationale region. This announcement comes on the occasion of a stop on the Quebec Tour, through which the cluster seeks to meet the region's business community and highlight the economic opportunities in the electric and intelligent transportation sector.
Propulsion Québec will use this stop on its tour to present some of its projects, including a study on the potential of the lithium‑ion battery value chain for Quebec, and to discuss new trends and innovative mobility models. This event will also be an opportunity to highlight Propulsion Québec's partnership with the Quebec Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will launch its 2020 cohort of the Conscience d’affaires program during the event.

“The future of mobility lies in connected, autonomous, shared and electric vehicles. This transformation of the transportation sector represents a golden opportunity for sustainable economic development for Quebec and its regions, and it is also an essential strategic area in which to make significant advances in the fight against climate change. This promising sector offers economic actors an extraordinary opportunity to support local companies. Furthermore, the Capitale‑Nationale region has a lively and dynamic ecosystem in electric and intelligent transportation, a perfectly natural choice in the cluster's deployment strategy,” said Sarah Houde, President and CEO of Propulsion Québec, the cluster for electric and intelligent transportation.
“As part of our Quebec Tour, we are pleased with this partnership with the Quebec Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the start of this 2020 cohort of the Conscience d’affaires program, where we will have the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs who wish to implement sustainable development practices in their companies,” she added.
“Through this tour, we want to introduce the players, big and small, who are actively taking part in the inevitable transformation of the transportation market and present the opportunities offered by this rapidly growing industry. Around the world, countries and cities are setting targets to reduce the number of combustion‑engine vehicles on the roads as well as deadlines after which electric transportation will, strictly speaking, become the norm. Our companies know this and are deploying their expertise and creativity to establish themselves in this promising sector while stimulating the economies of the regions where they settle,” she concluded.
“I welcome this news and I am proud to host Propulsion Québec in our region for the benefit of the entire business community. It was clear to us that Propulsion Québec should have an office in Quebec City in order to better support our members, including participants in our Conscience d’affaires support program, of which Propulsion Québec is the main partner,” said Julie Bédard, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Quebec (CCIQ).
The event being held today in Quebec City is organized with the support of Bombardier, AddÉnergie and LeddarTech. Propulsion Québec's Quebec Tour will soon make stops in Shawinigan and Longueuil, cities known for the dynamism of their innovative businesses.
