The intelligent and electric transport industry is booming.
Companies involved face technological currents that are evolving at breakneck speed and must be one step ahead of their competitors.
INO is a unique optics-photonics research center in Canada and presents itself as a partner supporting innovation for its clients. With extensive expertise in cameras, sensors and lidar technology that needs no introduction, we are able to design complete, customized solutions. From consulting to design, through development and short-run manufacturing, we aim to deliver sustainable solutions to your challenges.
Active players in mobility and transport are part of INO’s history and client base. Over time, INO has solved the complex problems presented to it by several Quebec organizations, including the Quebec Ministry of Transport, and by companies like Leddartech and Pavemetrics, which themselves originated from INO technologies.
Leddartech, today a dominant player in the market with its platform for automotive driver assistance (ADAS), was founded in 2007 based on a solid-state lidar technology developed at INO. Since then the company has been the source of many innovations in the field of advanced remote-sensing applications for assisted and autonomous driving for cars, trucks, buses, delivery vehicles, robotaxis and shuttles.
As for Pavemetrics, the company was founded in 2009 with digital vision systems designed at INO. It markets on five continents high-precision measurement instruments for pavement inspection that produce 3D renderings accurate to the millimeter. The data thus generated enable cities, large transport agencies and airport operators to know the condition of their transport infrastructure, prioritize their interventions and improve safety.
Driven by its mission, INO plays a unique role in the country by positioning itself on the market as an incubator, an accelerator and an extension of the R&D strength of players in the mobility ecosystem. Whether it’s to design sensors dedicated to assisting and enhancing the driver’s visual acuity, communicating with the vehicle for autonomy and greater safety, or placed inside vehicles to observe the driver, passengers or cargo, INO can innovate with and for you.
