Technician, Electric vehicles and charging, Maintenance

Description

Electronics technicians provide support in the design, development, testing, production, and operation of electronic equipment and systems. They are in high demand due to the development of electric and smart transportation, including charging stations and by-products such as batteries. They have the opportunity to create breakthroughs that will meet the mobility challenges of today and tomorrow.

Examples of tasks and responsibilities

  • Produce 2D technical drawings and the related 3D models required for manufacturing printed circuits and their components
  • Develop components for electronic systems used in electric powertrain systems and batteries, for example
  • Design and install printed circuit boards in various battery configurations and complete the required soldering and connections
  • Track the manufacturing of prototypes
  • Collaborate in the problem-solving process with the designers and engineers on the team
  • Use internal systems to track and optimize project progress
  • Work on analog and digital circuits

Required skills

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, electromechanics, printed circuit board design, and wired logic or an interest in learning more about them
  • Keen sense of mechanics and strong 3D visualization skills
  • Knowledge of computer-aided circuit board design software (e.g., Catia, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Knack for finding creative solutions to problems
  • Good teamwork skills
