Developing a world-class battery sector

Battery Sector

Propulsion Québec actively collaborates in the development of the lithium-ion battery industrial sector for electric vehicles (EV). This sector is among the main opportunities for Quebec, both in terms of mining and manufacturing development, attracting foreign investments, and the province's competitiveness and positioning as a green and reliable supplier in the global market.

Nearly 80 players, already active across all links in the value chain, are already contributing to the growth of Quebec's EST sector. Quebec's potential to stand out along the entire chain will have a structuring impact on the entire electric and smart transportation ecosystem.

The initiative targets green technologies to reuse and recycle lithium-ion batteries as well as the use of strategic minerals and Quebec raw materials.
