  • Event site

    IMPULSION MTL 2020 will be held in Montreal. The exact location is to be determined. Stay tuned!

  • City travel

    There are several options available for traveling between the Science Centre and your hotel and getting around the city.Propulsion Québec promotes sustainable mobility and encourages you to use the transportation options our members provide:

    Enter your starting point and destination and let the STM suggest the fastest route via metro and/or bus.

    Bike the streets of Montreal to easily reach your destination.Montreal’s bicycle sharing system boasts 6,250 bikes and 540 stations. Download the app to find the station nearest you.

    Get where you need to go with Netlift, the Montreal ride sharing app that lets you connect with other drivers and passengers whose routes and schedules are similar to yours.

     

  • Information for international travelers

    Visas and other documents
    To find out whether you need a visa, visit the Government of Canada’s Immigration and Citizenship website. If you need an invitation letter, contact us.

    Taxes
    All goods and services purchased in Quebec are subject to the 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the 9.975% Quebec Sales Tax (QST). There is also a 3.5% lodging tax that applies to all hotel rooms and rental units rented in the Montreal area. 

    Currency exchange
    You can exchange currency at various locations in Montreal:

    • At Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport (high rates)
    • At your hotel (high rates)
    • With your ATM card at a bank (reasonable rates, service charge)

    You’ll also find lots of currency exchange offices with competitive rates in the city centre.

    Tipping at restaurants and elsewhere
    Gratuities are not included on restaurant bills. It is customary to leave a 15% tip before taxes. Taxi drivers, delivery persons, hairdressers, etc. are normally tipped 10% to 15%. Porters and doormen generally receive at least $1 per luggage item or service rendered.
