Hybrids 2: General Maintenance and Using Diagnostic Tools

General description

  In this course participants will learn how to safely perform maintenance on hybrid vehicles. They will also delve into the world of diagnostic tools for hybrids. More specifically, participants will be able to:
  • Familiarize themselves with personal safety equipment
  • Research the required procedures for servicing a hybrid vehicle
  • Determine what to do to move a hybrid vehicle that will not start
  • Talk about the special considerations for oil changes
  • List the characteristics of each fluid used in the engine of a hybrid vehicle
  • Familiarize themselves with diagnostic devices
  • Familiarize themselves with maintenance for 12-volt batteries
  • Familiarize themselves with maintenance for high-voltage batteries

Prerequisites

Admission requirements To be admitted to the Electric Vehicle Mechanics program, you must meet one of the following criteria: 1. Have a diploma of vocational studies (DVS) in automobile mechanics or equivalent or Be working in a job or profession related to the program or Have had equivalent training recognized
