General description

Mechanical technicians are responsible for 3D design. They help develop plans, drawings, and technical specifications. They help develop plans, drawings, and technical specifications. They might install, repair, and maintain machines and various parts. They might work in a variety of mechanical engineering fields such as the design, development, maintenance, and testing of machines, parts, and tools for electric vehicles and charging stations. Examples of tasks and responsibilities

  • Assemble prototype engines, generators, and other systems
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions
  • Produce 2D technical drawings of components and the related 3D models required for assembly or prototyping projects, such as motors, batteries, etc.
  • Provide technical assistance to assemblers
  • Assemble prototype engines, generators, and other systems
  • Set up and operate prototype manufacturing equipment
  • Identify and deal with prototype non-compliances

Required skills

  • Strong 3D visualization skills
  • Experience in reading plans
  • Practical mechanical experience and knowledge of common tools (e.g., torque wrench)
  • Knowledge of mechanical modeling software such as SolidWorks, Catia, Siemens NX, etc.
  • Ability to solve problems in an analytical, methodical, and proactive manner
  • Good prioritization skills
  • Team spirit and collaborative mindset
